Effective November 2026. This policy describes what The Repair Brief (therepairbrief.com) collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how the calculators are used (for example, that a calculator was opened or that a result was shown). Google Analytics sets cookies and records your approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you view. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. We do not collect names or email addresses through analytics.
  • Advertising. If advertisements are shown, Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Calculators. The numbers you type into a calculator are processed in your browser. If you copy a result link, the inputs are encoded in that link; we do not store them on a server.
  • Email. If you write to [email protected], we keep your message to reply to it and, if it leads to a correction, to record the correction. We do not add you to any list.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider and content delivery network keep standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security and performance, retained for a limited period.

Cookies on this site come from Google Analytics and, when ads are shown, Google AdSense. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

Your choices and rights

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions with privacy laws may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Children

The site is written for adult homeowners and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
